Archetypal Narrative
This project was made in relation to my dissertation (Click here to view) which was on Mythology in Contemporary Culture. For this project I focused on the area of transference within folklore; how the same story can be found repeated in various cultures and times. There is a categorisation system for folklore called the Aarne-Thomson Categorisation System which numerically groups folk-tales by theme/plot device. I chose a specific section- Tale Type 425: Animal Bridegrooms, and cross referenced four tales from it by making a visual algorithm of their plots.
